England Women’s Cricket Team T20 Series Against New Zealand Preview

England Women’s Cricket Team Gears Up for Thrilling T20 Series Against New Zealand

In a significant move, England Women’s cricket team has recalled opener Sophia Dunkley for the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand, set to be aired live on Sky Sports. This five-match series, which will take place on home soil in July, serves as a crucial preparatory step for the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.

The squad, led by Heather Knight, remains largely unchanged from the team that secured a T20 series victory over Pakistan in May, with Dunkley being the sole addition. Additionally, all-rounder Freya Kemp of the Southern Vipers will be available for the series after being named as a batter against Pakistan.

“This five-match series against a strong New Zealand side is really important for us and also vital preparation as we build towards the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh,” said head coach Jon Lewis.

The return of Kemp as an all-rounder is another positive development, with Lewis expressing the hope of seeing her contribute with both bat and ball during the series.

The series will commence on July 6 in Southampton, followed by matches in Hove (July 9), Canterbury (July 11), and two fixtures in London at the Kia Oval (July 13) and Lord’s (July 17). This T20 series will be preceded by a three-match ODI series between the two nations, scheduled to take place at Durham (June 26), Worcester (June 30), and Bristol (July 3).
