A woman is in a critical condition after being struck by a falling tree in the BPL game between Bengaluru FC and Bengaluru Kings.
The woman was rushed to a hospital where she is currently in critical condition.
The incident took place at the bottom of a hill.
The Bengaluru police said the woman had gone to pick up her daughter from school.
The woman has been identified as Muneer.
Bengaluru Football Association (BFL) President Ravi Shastri said in a tweet that the woman was “in critical condition” at a hospital.
He said she had been injured on the side of her head and was taken to a private hospital.BALBERTO FC captain Muneers husband, Ramesh, tweeted: “We are devastated.
Our hearts go out to her family.”
The Bengalore police are investigating the incident.
Earlier this week, the BFL said they had received information that a woman had been struck by falling tree, which broke off a nearby hill.
In an incident report, Bengaluru Police said the incident took off on Monday morning and ended in a serious accident at the scene.
“The injured woman was walking with her children when the tree fell on her head,” the report said.
“She was rushed by the ambulance to the BCL Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.”
It was not immediately clear how many people were involved in the incident, which took place near the Bengaluru stadium.
Bengaluru is one of the top five cricket teams in India, with the Bengalores winning the league on seven occasions.
